We understand the importance of professional support for the whole community.

Dr. Greenberg understands the importance of professional support for the whole community.

That’s why he’s focused on professionals in high-stress environments: first responders, nurses, and teachers. When they receive support, the entire community thrives.

Dr. Greenberg works with anyone dealing with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship Concerns
  • Addictions
  • Crisis
  • Adjustment to Trauma

The factor that most contributes to therapy success is a good fit between patient and therapist.

Dr. Greenberg builds relationship with his clients by being upfront about methods. His approach is to blend cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. That means he focuses on the personal experiences of his clients, the way they interpret those experiences, and how those interpretations affect their relationships (with others and themselves).

A mental health professional can play an integral role in improving physical and mental well-being. Greenberg’s job as a therapist is not only to help patients identify and work through their mental health issues; it’s also about providing encouragement, guidance, and professional support during difficult moments.

Dr. Greenberg has been licensed as a clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia for over two decades and earned graduate degrees from Loma Linda University and Johns Hopkins University.

After working with law enforcement for 27 years, he recognized that the professional challenges officers face could be better understood if viewed from both sides of the badge. In 2019, he graduated from CCJTA’s 93rd Basic Law Enforcement Academy to better understand the population he serves.

He was a Board Member and Chair of Research Committee for the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology (2006 – 2014), a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (2001 – Present) where I have served on the Ethics Committee, Peer Support Guidelines Committee, and Officer Involved Shooting Guidelines Committee, as well as the American Psychological Association (1997 – Present). Dr. Greenberg holds a Diplomate in Police Psychology through the Society of Police and Criminal Psychology.

Dr. Greenberg provides adult counseling, bariatric evaluations, pre-hire evaluations, psychological testing, and critical incident stress debriefings.
